Final Illustration: Words (strip, coil, and destroy)

The purpose of this project was to randomly choose three words and make them work together as one. In doing so, my words were coil, strip, and destroy. I was a also, asked to include techniques that was taught throughout the course.

I began by doing a geometric portrait of my girlfriend. After that, I went on to add her hair as coils so that it will include my first word. Then, I drew a brick wall because of the wall she has up to destroy that and continue to be happy which is why she is smiling. Although, there is pain which is represented by the red strips in her shirt she is hiding it. I used a gradient effect to emphasize the important areas within my design. I used the frame as a card to also include the way I was taught how to make my own cards. I enjoyed making this final project.

I used the pen tool and just created my own illustrations. I have learned how to work more quickly with the pen tool and how to make my designs come more to life.
